你好!I'm Zhuojing Xu.

A Chinese writer and journalist working across editorial practice, cultural transmission, and cross-disciplinary creative work.

Trained in visual culture at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (MA, 2010), I began my career at The Outlook Magazine in Shanghai before moving to The New York Times China in Beijing. In 2013, I returned to Shanghai to join Life Magazine China, serving as Creative Director and Editor-in-Chief until 2020. My writing has since appeared in Modern Weekly, Nowness, InStyle, Bazaar Art, Ideat China, and across Chinese and Asian media.

In 2021, I co-founded a Chinese skincare and lifestyle brand, directing its brand identity, content strategy, and creative vision from the ground up.

My practice spans media, art, design, and commercial culture. I work with brands on integrated creative projects — from positioning and communication to visual identity, editorial publishing, exhibitions, and artist collaborations. Selected collaborations include Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Montblanc, Chanel, BMW, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Kindle, and leading real estate developers, museums, and cultural institutions.

I translated The Perfume Bible (2021) and published my debut novel Flow Flow (2024).

Now based in Lisbon, in 2025, I founded NOMÁS — a bilingual magazine tracing creative practices and cultural movement through a nomadic lens.

Open to collaborations, commissions, and conversations.
